This young man is getting ready to leave his family for 2 long years to preach the gospel in Guatemala. We managed to get out and take pictures literally hours before he had to leave. But, we got it done.

Yes, I have a new favorite place to take pictures. I have a new, favorite, expensive place to take pictures. There is a $100 fee for photographers in the Gardens, but I was thrilled when I got called and asked to shoot there! Add to that one of the most gorgeous families on the face of planet earth, and it made for such a great night. Wish I could shoot here every. single. day. Just sayin.
When I moved away to Oklahoma, there were a lot of things I knew I would miss. Family, friends, ward…. but this girl and her family were at the top of the list. She was my next door neighbor for 3 1/2 years. We worked together at two different jobs.. I worked for her at one, she worked for me at another. We had a back door policy. I don’t think we ever walked through each other’s front doors, just cut across the backyard and let ourselves into the kitchen. She is one of these friends that only comes along once in a very great while. The year that I was gone, it was painful to be away. Her life changed dramatically, and I missed almost the whole ten months that she had her sweet little angel with her. The day I moved back to Utah I was privileged to take family photos of her whole family before her little guy had to head back to Heaven. What an honor and a blessing. Love this girl and all 5 of her boys!
When this cute mom suggested this particular park for family pictures I was thinking “huh?”. I’ve been to this park to watch a gazillion soccer games and would have never thought of shooting there….. just goes to show, sometimes we miss what is right in front of us.
At the beginning of the year I was able to take this guy’s 3 year old pictures ( a little late). How fun it was to be able to take his 4 year old pictures too…. (a little early lol). He is one of the cutest kids in the world, and my girls miss living next door to him like crazy. And I miss living next door to his mom.
