It happened.  She did it.  She went ahead and got herself married.  I can’t believe what a beautiful bride she made, and what a good sport she was when we were taking these pictures in the rain…. it was freezing!  Love you Steph!

So my sweet sweet, undeniably adorable, totally wonderful, one of my favorites, NIECE came to live with us for a few months before we moved to Oklahoma. It was so wonderful to have some adult company while my husband was working out of state, and it was a great chance to get to know her better…. since the last time we spent A LOT of time together she was 2 and I was babysitting her, lol.  It was a fun two months, she and my daughter became really close friends, and I got to relive the life of an 18 year old going on 3 dates a week and having her pick of guys.   (Granted, I never was as cute as she is, and didn’t have quite as many guys knocking down my door).  When we left for Oklahoma, leaving her behind to move in with Grandma and Grandpa was so hard.  It was like leaving one of my own behind.  Luckily for me, she decided to stick with one of those guys, and I got to fly back home in August to take their engagement pictures!  She seems extremely happy, and I’m super happy for her.  And him.

There are definitely pros and cons involved in shooting outdoor photos in Utah in the spring.  The biggest con is that sometimes it snows, and you are freezing, and the client is freezing, and you have to rush a bit.  The biggest pro is that sometimes in snows, and you have great clients who don’t care and you are able to capture some awesome images.

So my friend asked me the a while ago if I would take some pictures of her.  I told her I would love too, and then she added that her boy would be there too, so it would be a couple’s shoot.  Immediately I started thinking engagement and asked if there was a ring involved, but she said no, she just wanted some couple pictures.  So, off we went, and it was a lot of fun.  She is absolutely gorgeous.  Wouldn’t you know it, within a couple weeks they were engaged!  They used some of these pictures for their announcements.  I would love to do their wedding pictures, but I will have moved to Oklahoma by then. 🙁

I think this gal is the luckiest girl in the world.  And I’m not talking about the fact that she is marrying someone she is so obviously smitten with, who is so obviously smitten with her in return.  Although that is lucky.  No, I’m talking about weather.  For her engagement pictures and for her bridals we were supposed to have near freezing temperatures and lots of rain.  Both times we were on the verge of cancelling the day before, both times she said let’s stick to the plan and hope for the best.  And both times we’ve had warm (ish) temperatures, some wind, but no rain. I’ve been so relieved.  So if there is a blizzard scheduled on her wedding day, I probably won’t even bring a coat.
