I’ve said it before, and I’m sure to say it again.  One of the greatest pleasures of being a photographer is the chance to meet so many new, fun, awesome people!  This family was so cute, I couldn’t get enough of them!  It took a little work getting this shoot scheduled, but I am so glad we finally got to meet.

There are definitely pros and cons involved in shooting outdoor photos in Utah in the spring.  The biggest con is that sometimes it snows, and you are freezing, and the client is freezing, and you have to rush a bit.  The biggest pro is that sometimes in snows, and you have great clients who don’t care and you are able to capture some awesome images.

We had a new family move in just a few doors down from us last month.  It’s been fun to see them out in the yard, and before long we started talking about photos for their family.  Just a few days later the youth group at our church put on a service auction, and I donated two family photo shoots.  It was a great opportunity for this family to get the photos they’ve been wanting, while at the same time helping out the youth.  The shoot was a bit chilly, but as always, a pleasure.

Meet Rae and Lizzy.  They met when they were 8. Now they are 14. From the day they met, they have been the best of friends, you know the kind.  Sadly, Rae (she’s mine) is packing up and moving to Oklahoma and they are very very sad. We decided to take a quick run down to the park and get some pictures taken.  I don’t think the 1200 miles is going to put a damper on this friendship.

There is always a moment of panic when you realize the venue you had planned to shoot at is not available to you.  The thing I love about photography is the people I get to me, and how they are always willing to accommodate last minute changes and new locations.  This family was no exception, as the park we had planned to meet at ended up being closed due to a reception being held there. They were good sports!
